Professor / Consultant of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation Cork University Dental School and Hospital

The University Dental School and Hospital is the centre for dental education and research in the South of Ireland.The Dental School has an excellent reputation for clinical teaching, clinical practice and research.As part of its ongoing commitment to strategic leadership in teaching, research and clinical initiatives within the school, the University now wishes to make an appointment to the newly created post of Professor/Consultant of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation.

The Dental School and Hospital is adjacent to the Cork University Hospital allowing for collaboration between the medical and dental schools in the management of patients, and also in clinical research. The Dental School and Hospital is managed by National University of Ireland, Cork.

The new Professor will develop research initiatives in the area of oral rehabilitation and establish research links with a number of disciplines including Epidemiology and Public Health, Food Science & Technology and, Geriatric Medicine.S/he shall foster the development of PhD studentships in Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation and develop funded research in the discipline.

The appointee shall develop and secure recognition for postgraduate training programmes and continuing education programmesS/he shall teach and examine undergraduate students and shall also provide consultant services for patients of the University Cork Dental School and Hospital, Cork, and those Health Boards with service agreements;

The Professor of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabiliation shall also participate in the planning and development of effective services in the discipline and participate in the administration and promotion of the activities and interests of the University Dental School and Hospital, Cork.

Salary:  €229,642 per annum
