Post Doctoral Vacancy in Virology

A vacancy exists for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Immunotherapy and Vaccine Research Laboratory, based in the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork, Ireland from March 2008. The focus of research in the group, funded by the Health Research Board of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, is on designing, developing and delivering virus-vector based T cell-inducing vaccines to various pathogens including influenza virus (Moore AC and Hill AV, Immunological Reviews, 2004, 199, 126-43, Gilbert S. et. al., Vaccine, 2002, 20,1039-1045 etc., http://www.ucc.ie/acad/pharmschool/staff/DrAnneMoore.htm).

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated virologist with an ability to work to a high standard and a proven track record in publishing papers in peer review journals. A Ph.D. degree in virology, previous molecular biology experience, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.The research requires skills in molecular virology, cell culture, flow cytometry and pre-clinical bio-medical modelling.
