The successful applicant will join an SFI, EI and IRCSET funded research group investigating the hardware implementation of cryptographic algorithms (www.ucc.ie/en/crypto/).
This Science Foundation Ireland – Research Frontiers Programme funded research project addresses the question of side channel attacks of bilinear pairing algorithms. Pairing based cryptography is currently one of the most popular topics in cryptography and the ultimate objective of this research is to identify which bilinear pairing is the most secure against side channel attacks which exploit the power consumption of a device while it executes
