PhD STUDENTSHIP
CORK BACTERIOCIN GROUP
Department of Microbiology
A Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) funded PhD studentship is available to carry out peptide bioengineering with a view to understanding the fundamental biology of lantibiotics with a view to the generation of antimicrobials with enhanced activity against multi-drug resistant pathogens.
The Cork Bacteriocin Group is made up of an International Group, jointly located in University College Cork and Teagasc, Moorepark, of ~20 researchers who are recognized leaders in the study of peptide antibiotics.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with an MSc or BSc (Hon, 1H or 2.1H) in the fields of Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology.
Student stipend: €16,000 per annum plus fees
