Patricia Finucane, Marketing and Communications Manager in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science at University College Cork, recently represented UCC at the UNIC Staff Week hosted by the University of Liège, Belgium. Patricia travelled on an Erasmus+ training visit.

The programme offered participants the opportunity to network, explore innovative approaches to their work, identify opportunities for collaboration, and develop new skills.

Group sessions and smaller thematic sessions were offered by the International Relations Office, the Communication Office and the Office of Innovative Pedagogy. Participants also met with local counterparts.

The group also took part in a welcome evening for international students and researchers, and discovered Liège’s fascinating history, stunning architecture, delicious cuisine, and warm local culture.

Patricia says: “The experience gave me a real sense of what it means to be part of a European university network - each of us sharing our individual experiences and skills while working towards a mutual ambition. The programme opened my mind to new perspectives and will certainly inform how I approach my daily work”.
