Hub Spaces

The Atrium is a large multi-purpose event space in the Hub, and makes up the majority of the Ground Floor. The Maker Space, also on the Ground Floor, provides room for students to get creative and work on artistic projects. The Global Lounge on the First Floor is a unique space for people to relax & work together in a dynamic environment. The Shtepps is a place for people to work on projects, but also to give talks & run events, and is located on the First Floor.

The Third Floor has a variety of different work spaces, including different-sized study rooms and open learning spaces.

The Fourth Floor is home to the Dr Dora Allman Room, as well as the Dr Lucy E. Smith Room and the Viewing Window, which provides a beautiful panoramic view across UCC's main campus.

The Atrium

The Atrium is an open flexible space that can be used by students for collaborative work, peer learning, meetings, lunch, etc. Additionally it may be used for careers fairs, open days, pop-up desks, events, talks, concerts etc. The Atrium provides a wide layout of seating layouts including lecture-style seating, exhibition-style, concert style with space for catering services. This common space will have a double height ceiling with lots of natural light.

MakerSpace

The MakerSpace is a learning environment where people with common interests, often in arts and crafts, machining, technology, science, digital art or electronic arts, can meet, socialize and work together. Everyday materials are reused in exciting ways that encourage experimentation and collaboration to develop 21st-century skills.

Global Lounge

The Global Lounge is an informal learning space with flexible comfortable cafĂ©-style seating layout in an open area. It is a creative learning and study space for group and individual work. Its unique lighting, with low ceilings, will give the lounge the feel of a 'living room' to give the space a relaxed atmosphere.

The Shtepps

The Shtepps is an auditorium styled hall with tiered timber seating, and equipped with audio and video facilities which could be booked for performances, guest speakers, movie screening and other events. 

Dr Dora Allman Room

The Dr Dora Allman Room is a large multifunctional space with panoramic views of the campus surroundings. This bookable space can be used for high profile events, conferences, ceremonies, exhibitions, performances, meetings, social events and more.

The Viewing Window is located just next to the Dr Dora Allman Room, and offers an outstanding view of the Main Quad.
