UCC Careers Service wins prestigious award for Work Integrated Learning

Huge Congratulations to our colleagues at UCC Career Services who have been announced as winners at the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) Awards for Excellence 2025.
The prestigious Awards ceremony, held on the 17th June at the iconic St James’ Park Stadium in Newcastle, is part of AGCAS’s ‘Employability for all’ conference, which is taking place at Newcastle University, with the support of headline sponsor Practera.
University College Cork Careers Service Work-Integrated Learning received the Award for Excellence in Work-Based Learning.
What the judges said: “They had an inspiring and dynamic approach to integrating work-based learning that demonstrated strong collaborative methods that spanned several academic areas.”
While the Awards run annually, this year they had been refocused to reflect the themes that matter to the higher education sector, with AGCAS keen to celebrate fresh thinking and innovation at a time of increasing challenges. The broad range of categories recognise the success of services and individuals who are making a positive difference to employability for students and graduates. The Awards attracted a remarkable number of high-quality submissions, demonstrating the widespread commitment to best practice across the sector.
These innovative and collaborative projects, and high professional standards, lead to careers success for student and graduates and employability for all.”
The Awards programme was part of a broader conference theme of the importance of whole institution approaches to employability. For the first time, the conference included a research poster exhibition, to highlight how research and teaching staff have important roles to play in equipping students and graduates for future success.
