SATLE Teaching and Learning Enhancement Funding Call 2025 announced

We are delighted to launch an open call for SATLE 2025 Teaching and Learning Enhancement funding. SATLE - the Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement Funding in Higher Education - is a funding allocation administered by the Higher Education Authority's National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Through this funding, UCC hopes to support projects with potential for significant impact on teaching and student learning at UCC. This internal call will be administered by the Office of the Vice President for Learning & Teaching (OVPLT) through CIRTL.

Projects are expected to align with one or more of the following themes:

  1. Inclusive Learning, Teaching and Assessment
  2. Digitally enabled Learning, Teaching and Assessment
  3. Education for Sustainable Development
  4. Academic Integrity
  5. Delivering the Connected Curriculum – connecting students with research, SDGs, employers, entrepreneurship, and the world

Applicants are invited to apply for:

  1. Smaller ‘seed-funding’ grants of up to €2,000 maximum per application.
  2. Larger grant applications for proposals of up to €15,000 maximum per application.

The application form, guidelines for applicants, and submission link are available on theCIRTL website. Applicants must ensure they consult the guidelines for applicants before making a submission.

The deadline for applications is 5pm Thursday 24th July 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.

UNIC VIP Fund Call

OVPLT, in collaboration with UNIC, is delighted to launch the second round of applications for Virtual and International Educational Projects – the VIP fund.   

The first round of the VIP call saw 8 UCC projects awarded funding to engage in virtual exchange activities with UNIC consortium partners. Congratulations to all colleagues on their success.  

The VIP Fund aims to support virtual or blended international educational activities across UNIC university partners. Virtual Exchange refers to a set of learning activities that connect students and teachers from different locations by allowing them to collaborate on tasks or projects online. More detailed information and a step-by-step guidance on developing Virtual Exchange, as well as practice examples can be found in the UNIC Mobility Handbook from page 33 onwards.  

Applicants are invited to apply for grants of up to €2,000 maximum per application.

The deadline for applications is 23:59 Tuesday September 30th. Late submissions will not be accepted.
