New publication: Piston control in a two ion quantum device
Dr. Jing Li and Dr. Andreas Ruschhaupt are pleased to announce their new article 'Piston control in a two‑ion quantum device', published in New Journal of Physics.
For this research, the authors propose a scheme for piston control within a two‑ion quantum device where ion motion is confined along orthogonal axes. In this setup, one ion acts as a “classical” piston driven by Coulomb interaction with the second ion; the quantum motion of the latter is controlled via modulation of its trapping potential.
This research was carried out in collaboration with Prof. E. Ya Sherman (UPV/EHU, Bilbao, Spain).
