Dr Brendan Fitzgerald presents work on second trimester miscarriage at the 69th Annual Meeting of the Paediatric Pathology Society in Madrid

Dr Brendan Fitzgerald, Consultant Perinatal Pathologist at Cork University Hospital, presented two papers on second trimester miscarriage at the recent Annual Meeting of the Paediatric Pathology Society. This work forms part of the perinatal pathology strand of research at the Pregnancy Loss Research Group.
The first paper focused on management directing clinicopatholgical classification of second trimester miscarriage, while the second explored placental pathology patterns in second trimester miscarriage.
The 69th Annual Meeting of the Paediatric Pathology Society was held from 14-16 September in Madrid. The Paediatric Pathology Society is composed of pathologists who specialise in or have a major interest in the pathology of the fetus, neonate or child. Membership is largely European, but is open to those from anywhere in the world.
