The Junior Obsterics and Gynaecology Society was founded in 1988 to represent the interests of trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ireland and to provide a forum for discourse and research. It provides representation to the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the European Network of Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The Society runs meetings and events throughout the year aimed at all Non-Consultant Doctors in the specialty. Each November it holds a national conference in conjunction with the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to showcase Irish research in Obstetric and Gynaecology.
