Congratulations Dr Tamara Escañuela Sánchez!

Congratulations to Tamara Escañuela Sánchez who successfully defended her PhD on Wednesday, 22 March.
Funded by Science Foundation Ireland, Tamara’s PhD titled “Rethinking stillbirth through behaviour change” aimed to build the evidence-base to inform the development of a behaviour change intervention to raise awareness of and reduce modifiable risk factors for stillbirth in Ireland.
Over the course of her doctoral studies, Tamara published seven peer-reviewed papers (with a further paper under review), a policy brief, and presented her work at various national and international conferences. Read more about the studies that Tamara undertook as part of The RELEVANT Study.
Tamara’s PhD was supervised by Professor Keelin O’Donoghue, Dr Karen Matvienko-Sikar (School of Public Health), Dr Sarah Meaney (National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre, NPEC), and Professor Molly Byrne (Health Behaviour Change Research Group, University of Galway). Her thesis was examined by Dr Paul Corcoran (Senior Lecturer, National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre) and Dr Sinead Currie (Lecturer in Psychology, University of Stirling).
Tamara is currently a Research Officer at NPEC and plans to undertake postdoctoral studies to continue development, and plan evaluation, of a behaviour change intervention to raise awareness of and reduce modifiable risk factors for stillbirth.
