College of Medicine and Health 2026 Research Conference
The College of Medicine and Health at University College Cork hosted its Annual Research and Innovation Conference on Wednesday, 02 September. Under the theme ‘Advancing Health: Translating Discovery to Care’, the conference celebrated the breadth and quality of research and innovation taking place across the College and explored how research excellence can inform clinical practice, shape policy and deliver meaningful impact for patients and communities.
From the Pregnancy Loss Research Group, Dr Barbara Burke presented findings from her scoping review of definitions, risk factors, and predictive models for perinatal sentinel events. Dr Aoife Corcoran provided insights into international data recording practices in gestational trophoblastic disease based on her international service evaluation. Dr Ramya Baskaran presented a poster of her scoping review of pregnancy loss and perinatal death bereavement care education and training interventions for staff.
