The Impact of Stillbirth Conference

The Pregnancy Loss Research Group hosted a one day conference for health professionals and parents at University College Cork on 02 November, 2013. Guest speakers, sponsored by Féileacáin, included Professor Ingela Rådestad, Sophiahemmet University, Stockholm, and Dr Alexander Heazell, Manchester Academic Health Science Centre & St. Mary’s Hospital.

Former MEP Brian Crowley also gave an address. During the event, participants learned about a variety of topics, including:

  • Stillbirth: the facts and figures
  • The role of perinatal pathology
  • The official record
  • The impact on bereaved parents
  • The impact on staff
  • Life after loss.
