Summer Scholarships 2025

PPI Ignite Network@ UCC invites UCC undergraduate students to apply for a summer student scholarship to complete a short research project during the summer.
Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) can be described as research carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them. PPI is a mechanism for people to contribute to the research process, for example by identifying what research is important, checking that the language of materials for participants in a study is appropriate and understandable or participation in data analysis or in an oversight group for a study.
The purpose of this scholarship scheme is to encourage an interest in PPI and give students an opportunity to become familiar with PPI in research approaches.
Summer scholars will be paid €400 per week for a 6-week period (between June- August 2024). Students will be required to complete a short (500 word) case study at the end of the studentship.
