PPI Supports Available for HRB APA Applicants

The HRB have recently opened the 2024 call for the
Applied Partnership Awards (
APA) which is a rolling call with two peer review cycles in 2024.
As with all HRB Funding Calls, there is a strong emphasis on Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in the application (see
APA 2024 Guidance Notes, pg. 14). PPI Ignite Network@ UCC will be offering the following PPI supports for researchers to successfully and plan and embed PPI into their proposed projects.
Workshop
Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in the HRB APA Application.
This two-hour workshop will give a brief overview of the definition and rationale for PPI, present some case examples of successful PPI in HRB funded projects
and allow potential applicants to plan their PPI approach using the 5 W's of involvement framework. Workshop will be facilitated by Dr Emmy Racine, PPI Ignite Network@ UCC Programme Manager. No prior PPI knowledge/ experience required.

One-to-one PPI Support
Online PPI support clinics will be available to potential applicants on Tuesday 27
th February. These clinics will provide applicants with the opportunity to discuss their PPI plans in detail and get advice tailored to their own research proposal. Clinics will be run by Dr Emmy Racine, PPI Ignite Network@ UCC Programme Manager. Applicants can book a slot
