Launch of UCC Festival Funding Call 2025

Apply for support to host a PPI-related event or activity during the National PPI Festival 2025.
The National PPI Festival takes place this year between 1-31st October 2025.
PPI Ignite Network@ UCC are providing €600 funding for up to six applicants to host a PPI related event or activity that aligns with the festival aims.
- Open to UCC staff and research students.
- PPI contributors and/or organisations can apply via one of the above.

See below for FAQs. Awarding of the support funds are at the discretion of the PPI Ignite Network@ UCC. Successful applications will be selected by lottery upon meeting the application criteria.

FAQs
- Who can apply?
Applications must be submitted by a UCC staff member or postgraduate research student.
Please note that individual PPI contributors and organisations can apply via one of the above. This is due to UCC budget-holding criteria as outlined in point 5 below.
- When do applications close?
Applications close on Friday 5th September 2024
- Does the event or activity have to happen in October?
Yes, this fund is specifically to support the National PPI Festival occurring between 1-31st October, 2025.
- When will I be notified if I’m successful?
We aim to notify successful applicants by Friday 12th September 2025.
- If I’m successful, how will I get the funds?
- Applications with budget permissions and an appropriate existing research account will receive a journal transfer.
- Applicants without budget permissions will need to have a budget-holding staff member to support you. The funds will be transferred as outlined above.
- Can PPI Ignite Network@ UCC order or buy what I need instead?
No. Under no circumstances will PPI Ignite Network@ UCC engage in procurement of items or services, nor in refunding of individual receipts. It is the applicant’s responsibility to manage the funding.
- I don’t need €600, can I apply for less?
Yes, please make a note in the submission how much you are applying for?
- Can I ask for more than €600?
No. Applications for more than €600 will be deemed ineligible.
- Are there terms and conditions?
By receiving Festival Fund support, you agree to: - Use the funds for the specified purpose
- Host the event or activity between 1st-31st October 2025.
- Be responsible for all administrative and operational tasks associate with the event
- Abide by the UCC PPI Policy Reimbursement Policy and all other relevant UCC finance and event organising policies
- Abide by the National PPI Festival Guidelines.
- Collect feedback and information on the event using the PPI Ignite Network feedback template and share the feedback with the PPI Ignite Network National Office.
- Write a short overview or case study on the event by end of year (2025) and consent for the case study to be made available on the UCC website
- Acknowledge PPI Ignite Network @ UCC on any materials
- Acknowledge National PPI Festival on all materials
