From January - March 2024, in partnership with the Glucksman Education team, the Irish Peatland Archaeology Across Time project (IPeAAT) helped to creatively engage young people with peatlands.

Over 800 young people from schools across the Cork region visited the Glucksman to take part in workshops designed by the IPeAAT and the Glucksman, in which they creatively responded to the exhibition, Radical Archaeologies: Unearthing Landscape in Contemporary Irish Art.

The young people worked with art facilitators to explore ideas of history, heritage, archaeology, climate change, biodiversity and how we can learn from the past to help shape a better future. As part of the workshops, they engaged with contemporary artworks inspired by peat landscapes as well as archaeological artefacts. Below are some of the wonderful artworks that they produced.
