UCC Open Day set to take place this Saturday, October 8, all over campus. For the full schedule and to plan your day in advance, check out the brochure here or see www.ucc.ie/opendays. For further inspiration, UCC Admissions has picked 10 things you could do at the Open Day:

  1. Attend one of the most popular talks of the day: UCC’s First Year Experience Coordinator Noirin Deady will give a Talk for Parents at 10am in the Aula Maxima. Arrive early to be sure of a seat!
  2. Money talks: Attend the Finance & Grants talk by Evan Healy at 10.30am in the Aula or at 12.30pm in West Wing 5 with SUSI on the topic of grant applications.
  3. Take a tour of campus: Tours will depart from UCC Visitors' Centre, located in the North Wing of the Quad, at 11.15, 12.15, 13.15 and 14.15.
  4. Be inspired: The Glucksman Gallery will give tours of its award-winning building – and the current exhibition, of course – at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00.
  5. Get sporty - Guides will be in the Mardyke Arena all day to show you around the top-notch sports facility, with formal tours at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00 and 14.00. Not sure where the Mardyke is? If you ask nicely, one of the lovely Student Ambassadors at the Archway of the Main Quad will show you the way.
  6. Find out where various disciplines lead to careers-wise at one of 7 ‘Careers In…’ talks taking place throughout the day.
  7. Ever wonder what it’s like to be a piece of food? Well, wonder no more! Alimentary Adventures’ inflatable tunnel, or as we like to call it – our giant, inflatable, bouncy castle, walk-through gut – will be in Room G14 in the Western Gateway Building all day for you to learn about how the human digestive system works.
  8. Pretend to be a medical student…well, kind of… well, not really. But you can tour Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, where Medicine and Health students are based. Tours depart at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00 and 14.00 from the main entrance area of the building.
  9. Meet business masterminds of the present and future at Blackstone Launchpad's stand in the Main Restaurant and attend their talks in the Library Creative Zone at 12.30 and 14:00.
  10. Take a break at the centre of campus and enjoy music from Red Sky Planes outside the Student Centre during the day.
