UCC Arts Officer and Culture Officer Seán Kelly said: “This event offers a unique window into the variety of creative practices taking place across our Artist in Residence programmes - from the written and spoken word to music, film and translation. It reflects the university’s role as a space where diverse forms of artistic expression are encouraged, inviting artists to develop their practice in a university environment while also engaging with students, staff and our local community.”

“We’re deeply grateful to our partners - The Arts Council, Literature Ireland, Nano Nagle Place, Cork Opera House, and Ealaín na Gaeltachta - for their ongoing enthusiasm, collaboration, and support. Their commitment makes it possible for us to welcome outstanding artists into the heart of the university, and to foster rich creative exchanges that resonate within and far beyond our campus,” Seán Kelly said.

This event reflects the goals of UCC’s Arts and Culture Plan which aims to harness the University’s cultural, artistic, heritage and creative strengths, and champion transdisciplinary arts research and new models of engagement.

Partner funding for all Artist in Residence Scheme comes from UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, and the artists are hosted in four of its Schools - English and Digital Humanities (Writer in Residence), Film, Music and Theatre (Film Artist, Theatre Artist and Traditional Artist in Residence), Languages, Literatures and Cultures (Literary Translator in Residence), and Irish Learning (Irish Language Artist in Residence).
