  • The multi-annual agreement sees Deloitte providing both funding and professional expertise to support UCC and particularly Cork University Business School (CUBS) education programmes. The partnership sees Deloitte support a variety of college initiatives including providing additional employment opportunities for students.
  • In June 2023 Deloitte Ireland announced its intention to double its Cork presence within three years, at which time it will also celebrate its 150th anniversary in the city.

University College Cork (UCC) and Deloitte Ireland have agreed a partnership that will see Deloitte sponsor a range of educational activities as part of a multi-annual agreement. This will build on Deloitte’s and UCC’s strong existing links and Deloitte's commitment to the Munster region.

This investment follows Deloitte Ireland’s announcement in June this year that it will double its presence in Cork with the addition of 300 new roles and the launch of a Cork based Technology and Analytics Hub.

Kevin Butler, Partner, Deloitte Ireland commented: “As we get closer to marking 150 years in Cork, I am excited to continue this journey by showing our ongoing dedication to investing in education in Cork. We are committed to fostering learning opportunities for students and creating new and innovative roles for them to develop their careers in Cork and nationally. This partnership with University College Cork will open a number of new and interesting opportunities for students to learn about the work and career journeys of my colleagues and gain from their experiences.”

Sinead Gogan, Chief Human Resources Officer, Deloitte Ireland said: “This sponsorship is testament to the existing bonds between Deloitte and UCC. As both Deloitte and particularly CUBS continue their ambitious expansion plans, this is an exciting opportunity for us to deepen our relationship. As a leading talent destination, we believe Cork will continue to be a hub for cutting-edge innovation in the coming years, and our sponsorship will support this growth.”

Professor Thia Hennessy, Head of College of Business and Law UCC commented: “This sponsorship will provide University College Cork students an exceptional opportunity to connect with leading Deloitte professionals and alumni and learn more about their careers and experiences. University is a time where students explore a wide range of potential career options and with Cork’s growth as a business hub and tech destination, the connections that are forged and learning opportunities offered can inspire our students before they set off on their next path.”

"This generous investment solidifies the existing ties between Deloitte and UCC and strengthens our partnership for years to come. By investing in and supporting educational programmes at UCC, Deloitte is nurturing the next generation of business leaders in the Cork and Munster region" said Kerry Bryson, CEO of Cork University Foundation.
