Abstract

This qualitative literature review synthesises international data on how "courtesy stigma" (stigma-by-association) and language shaming impact Coda youth, while highlighting their unique bicultural resilience and personal agency. It outlines critical policy changes required under the Irish Sign Language (ISL) Act 2017 to provide registered interpreters in public bodies.
