Feminist Walk of Cork

A Feminist Walk of Cork was held on Saturday 8 March, to mark International Women's Day.
The rain held off just long enough for the group of walkers to stop at different points along the way and listen to talks about how the history and influence of women is woven into the topography of the city.
Speakers included:
- Professor Maggie O'Neill, Director of Collective Social Futures and ISS21
- Conach Gibson, PhD student
- JP Quinn, UCC Visitors Centre,
- Dr Evelien Geerts, UCC Women's Studies and Department of Philosophy
- Clodagh Finn, author and journalist
- Dr Naomi Mashetti, Cork Migrant Centre
- Sheila Connolly, Cork Alliance Centre
- Dr Angela Flynn, UCC Nursing & Midwifery
After the walk, participants joined Dr Mary Crilly and Dola Twomey at the Sexual Violence Centre Cork for refreshments, as the group heard more about the work of the centre.
This event was coordinated by Collective Social Futures and ISS21 with UCC MA Women's Studies and the Global Justice Society.
