Ciara O'Toole appointed as Chair of the College of Medicine and Health EDI Steering group
Congratulations to Dr Ciara O'Toole from our Department of Speech and Language Therapy on her appointment as Chair of the College of Medicine and Health EDI Steering group.
Since 2021, Ciara has played a leading role in advancing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at University College Cork. She chaired our School's first Athena Swan Bronze application, is the founding Chair of the School's EDI Committee, and has led impactful initiatives including the Healthcare 4 You Transition Year programme.
Ciara is also Vice-Chair of the UCC Medicine and Health Inclusion Health Research Group and is currently leading a College-wide project to develop Inclusion Health teaching resources.
As Chair, Ciara's vision is to build on the strong foundations already established and foster a culture where every staff member and student feels respected, valued and included.
We are immensely proud of Ciara's achievements, leadership, and dedication to creating more inclusive environments across education, research and healthcare. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of her work in this important role.
