Shave or Dye Fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society

5 Jun 2020

The Irish Cancer Society Cancer unfortunately has touched all our lives in some way. This year the ICS missed it's usual fundraising Daffodil Day so UCC friends and work colleagues Darrelle, Deirdre, Gavin and Michelle ran their "2 shave or 2 dye, dat is de question" fundraiser. Launched on May 15th they did their big reveal on May 22nd but fundraising is ongoing.

Darrelle, Deirdre, Gavin and Michelle were having a chat when the idea of a shave or dye fundraiser came up and was immediately laughed off!!!!! However, a few hours later the WhatsApp group was buzzing with second thoughts and suggestions that 'maybe we should just do it'. A couple of group planning meetings and a week or so later they launched the fundraiser, reachiong out to friends, family and colleagues across UCC.

"Choosing the Irish Cancer Society as the beneficiary was an easy decision. So many families have been affected by cancer and the Society not only provides fantastic support but is also constantly supporting research aiming for a future without cancer", Michelle said. "The support we received from friends, family and work colleagues was fantastic and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated."

Hats off to you Michelle O'Halloran, Darrelle Keagan, Gavin Deady and Deirdre Madden!
