UCC is pleased to invite you to a free public event taking place in the Old Savings Bank to find out what anthropology is! Staff and current students will be on hand to showcase their work, answer questions on topics from archaeology to ethnomusicology, from environmental anthropology to technoanthropology, and provide information on our range of exciting study options from undergraduate to postgraduate.
Just pop in, walk around and see what is on offer.
There will be live music from Aoife Granville and friends at 3pm and at 4pm, screenings of works from staff and students including a short film on the Dragon of Shandon throughout the afternoon hosted by Tatsuma Padoan. For those interested in tech and business anthropology James Cuffe will be there to advise on research and consultancy. In the evening at 5pm you can join JC MacQuarie on a ramble through the streets of Cork to discover the hidden lives of people at night, as the city prepares to go sleep, pray or party. This event will introduce people to the exciting variety within anthropological study.
The event will be of interest to students, parents and anyone curious to hear more about the 5 fields of Anthropology: socio-cultural, linguistic, archaeology, biological anthropology, and, applied anthropology.
