I am having trouble booking a Study Space - Who should I contact?

If you are having trouble booking a Study Space or logging into Resource Booker, please contact the Hub Reception desk.

What spaces are available for students to book?

There are 16 small study rooms & 4 larger group study rooms in the Hub. All UCC registered students will be able to book these rooms directly via Resource Booker, using their UCC Umail accounts.  

These rooms can be booked for a maximum of 2 hours per day and up to 7 days in advance.

I am a student on a UCC Club / Society Committee, can I book a room, other than a study room?

Club Committee members can book rooms via the Clubs President and Clubs Secretary.

Society Committee members can book rooms via the Societies President and the Societies Executive Assistance.

Who else can book rooms, other than study rooms?

Student Union Executive Sabbatical Officers can book rooms in the Hub on behalf of the UCC SU and the Peer Support Coordinator can book rooms on behalf of the Peer Support Leaders.

If you wish to book a room as part of your studies, you will need to contact your tutor or department.

What rooms, other than study rooms, can student organisations book in the Hub?

Ground Floor: Active Learning Space, Atrium

First Floor: The Shtepps

Third Floor: The Student Life Meeting Room

Fourth Floor: The Dr Dora Allman Room, The Lucy E. Smith Room

Can I book a consultation room during office hours?

The Hub Consultations Rooms will be used by specified UCC staff members who are working in the Hub from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. Rooms will be available for students to book from 6pm Monday - Friday & weekends.

Can I make a recurring booking?

Students can only book rooms 7 days in advance. When making a recurring booking please ensure all occurrences are within this time frame otherwise the booking will not be accepted.

What do I do if the room is dirty or if something is broken/missing, when I arrive for my booking?

Please inform the Hub Management ASAP if you find a study room in a dirty condition, or if any items are broken or missing. 

If you do not do this, then you might be held liable for any mess or broken/missing items, and you may have your booking privileges revoked. 

It is the collective responsibility of all students to keep our rooms clean, tidy, and to report any broken/missing items ASAP.  

Can I bring food into study spaces?

You are welcome to bring water and hot drinks in reusable containers.  As we would like to keep our lovely new study rooms fresh and clean, please do not eat food in the study rooms. 

You are welcome to eat food in the Atrium and Global Lounge.

My Booking was cancelled, why?

A booking may be cancelled in the following circumstances;

- If a room remains unoccupied for 10 minutes or more after the booked time,

- If you do not have proof of the confirmed booking

- If there is a breach of the booking terms & conditions

- In exceptional circumstances a booking may be cancelled by the Hub Management for operational reasons
