UCC Ukraine Response

The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine has resulted in a large number of people fleeing conflict, displaced, and seeking refuge in Ireland. In response and as a committed University of Sanctuary, UCC has a focus on supporting these new members of our communities, working together with local government, public sector agencies, and NGO’s for joined up approaches locally, regionally and nationally.

Message from the President

As a designated and exemplary University of Sanctuary we are committed to creating conditions of solidarity, support and continued scholarship for people displaced by war and human rights violations.

Professor John O'Halloran, President, University College Cork

I am honoured to announce the university's new Sanctuary Fellowship which adds to the existing strengths, dedicated supports and scholarships at UCC for people seeking refuge in Ireland.
