UNIC Announces Seed Fund for Engaged Research Initiatives

24 Nov 2022

UCC researchers are invited to submit applications for seed funding being made available through the UNIC4ER (Engaged Research) programme. Qualifying researchers can apply for up to 12 months of funding and support for research projects that tackle societal challenges in post-industrial cities.

The primary aim of the UCC UNIC4ER Seed Funding Scheme 2023 is to support excellence in Engaged Research talent, knowledge, and engagement, including responding to emerging research and societal challenges and proactively assisting city stakeholders to address these complex issues. This funding scheme also aims to foster collaborations amongst partner universities in UNIC European University of Post-Industrial Transition Cities and help increase their competitiveness for external funding opportunities.

Academic staff, contract researchers (with contracts of sufficient duration), and professional service staff are welcome to apply. While postgraduate scholars are not eligible to apply, their involvement in the proposed projects is encouraged.

More information is available on the UCC research office web page: https://www.ucc.ie/en/research/support/fuf/#unic-engaged-seed-funding-pilot-scheme-2023-forms-guidelines.
