UCC Green Campus Living Laboratory funding available

19 Jun 2026

The open call for UCC Green Campus Living Laboratory funding (for demonstration projects up to the value of €5,000) includes projects with meaningful engagement with UNIC partners.

A "Living Laboratory" uses the knowledge and research capabilities of our students and staff to solve issues relating to our own infrastructure and practices. UCC Green Campus established the Living Laboratory Seed Fund to research and address real-life problems, using UCC itself as a testbed.  Proposals must support the goals and objectives outlined in UCC’s Sustainability and Climate Action Plan (2023-28).

Projects that advance our Green Labs and Plastic Free UCC programmes, that aim to reduce carbon emissions, or that embed sustainability within the curriculum, are particularly welcome. Further information, and the application form, can be found here.

Queries should be directed to Dr Maria Kirrane, Head of Sustainability and Climate Action by email to m.kirrane@ucc.ie and sandra.barry@ucc.ie; queries regarding the UNIC component can be directed to Aoife Dowling, UNIC Programme Manager at aoife.dowling@ucc.
