Global Minds Summer School at University of Łódź
The University of Łódź invites Master’s students and doctoral candidates from UNIC partner universities (including University College Cork) to take part in Global Minds Summer School 2026: Ideas, Disciplines, Collaboration, organised by the Doctoral Schools Centre of the University of Łódź.
The Summer School is designed as an international and interdisciplinary learning space for young researchers and advanced students who wish to strengthen their academic, collaborative, and impact-oriented competences. It responds directly to the spirit of the UNIC alliance by bringing together participants from different universities, disciplines and urban contexts to exchange ideas, develop research-related skills and build new forms of academic cooperation.
The programme will offer three parallel workshop tracks:
Cooperation in an International Scientific Team
Participants will explore how to initiate and develop international research collaboration, communicate across academic cultures, manage roles and responsibilities in research teams, and prepare an individual international collaboration plan.
Boosting Efficiency in Scientific Work
This track will support participants in organising their research workflow, managing literature and data, planning academic writing, using digital tools responsibly, and developing a personal research efficiency plan.
Entrepreneurial Impact in Academia
Participants will work on translating academic knowledge into social, institutional, public, or economic impact. The track will cover stakeholder mapping, value proposition, research communication beyond academia and the development of an academic impact pitch or impact canvas.
The Summer School will combine workshops, expert feedback, peer exchange, cultural and integration activities in Łódź, and practical work on participants’ own research interests or academic development plans. It is particularly suitable for students and doctoral candidates who are interested in international collaboration, interdisciplinary research, responsible innovation, and the social role of universities.
- Students from outside of Poland will be provided with accommodation and meals
- Applications for the Summer School are open until 12 July.
