Development of a mobile health application for those who have experienced pregnancy loss

We created a website and mobile app to share evidence-based information on pregnancy loss. The app also allows users to record their experience of pregnancy loss. Data collected from app users has the potential to inform evidence based practice in the future.

Abstract

The aim of this project was to develop (i) a website for the Pregnancy Loss Research Group to provide information around pregnancy loss and also the facilities at Cork University Maternity Hospital, and (ii) a mobile app to act as a resource for information on pregnancy loss issues and a research tool allowing users to record their experience of pregnancy loss through diary entries, photos, and surveys. Both the website and mobile app act as an accurate information resource. The content management system allows the Group to manage and update the information on both platforms without technical knowledge of web or mobile frameworks. Data collected from app users has the potential to inform evidence based practice in the future.
