Abstract
This invited commentary Professor Keelin O’Donoghue is focused on the impact of stillbirth. Consideration is given to the impact on parents and families, healthcare professionals and broader society. The importance of research, clinical audit, confidential enquiry and raising public awareness is highlighted.
