We held a Stillbirth Webinar “Stillbirth Matters – Prevention, Investigation, Management, and Care Webinar” in conjunction with the Institute of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland on 04 October 2023.

During the webinar, we provided updates on stillbirth rates, care practices, reviews and related policies in Ireland, as well as discussing risk factors, awareness and prevention strategies, and presenting updates in investigation of stillbirth and perinatal bereavement care. Over 180 people registered, with 111 tuning into the webinar on the day itself.

Professor Keelin O’Donoghue provided an introduction on why stillbirth matters in Ireland. Dr Tamara Escañuela Sánchez spoke about risk factors and prevention. An overview of perinatal pathology and stillbirth was provided by Dr Brendan Fitzgerald. Dr Daniel Nuzum spoke about the importance of the stillbirth care experience and bereavement care.

Over 40% of attendees completed the evaluation form (47 out of 111).
