From September, Mgr. Ing. Martina Pelikánová will join the Centre of European Integration (CEI@UCC) as a visiting PhD researcher.

Martina conducts her PhD at the Department for Business and Law, Faculty for International Relations ( https://fir.vse.cz/), University of Economics and Business in Praque, Czech Republic. Her thesis, supervised by prof. JUDr. Jan Dědič – Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze (vse.cz),  focuses on cross-border transformations of companies. During her academic visit at the Centre of European Integration @ UCC, she seeks to explore effects of Brexit on cross-border transformations between UK and countries of the EU including the Czech Republic and Ireland as well as the fate of the European companies (Societas Europea) in the UK and the Regulation 2157/2001 on the Statute for European company (SE) after Brexit. Mobility of companies between the UK and Ireland in the context of Brexit, also with a view to maintaining the legal status of European companies (Societae Europea), will be an important aspect of the research.
