‘How do we Engage Communities in Climate Action? – Practical Learnings from the Coal Face’

Imagining2050 Senior Postdoctoral Researcher Alexandra Revez, PI Prof Brian O'Gallachoir and colleague from Cleaner Production Promotion Unit Dr Breffni Lennon supported this event and helped host table discussion at the workshop. The purpose of this workshop was to capture the knowledge and experience developed amongst those working on engaging communities in action, in order to develop recommendations on how this can be done most successfully in relation to climate change.

Workshop Objectives:

1. To identify what works/ doesn’t work from experience of engagement specifically on climate action and to capture what works/ doesn’t work in broader community engagement that could be relevant to climate action.

2. To distil optimal approaches and actions to achieve engagement on climate change and the rationale(s) for these

3. To consider variations in “the community” and their context and identify different options possible that respond to/ are most suited for distinct groups

Workshop Outcomes:

MaREI will produce a Draft Report of Workshop outcomes and circulate for fact-checking, revision and any additional input. The Final Report will be submitted to the National Dialogue on Climate Action

Registration required. Organised by Workshop hosted by MaREI and the National Dialogue on Climate Action
