On May 16th a networking and workshopping event to explore interdisciplinary research on waters was held at UCC.

Researchers and community stakeholders convened to discuss the need and rationale for interdisciplinary research on waterbodies in Cork. Organized by Jesse Peterson and Soli Levi, the event featured interactive workshops, discussions, and collaborative exercises to explore connections among and across waterbodies (from raindrops to rivers and lakes to oceans), science and society, technology, and the environment. The objective of this event was to foster engagement and curiosity by bringing watery scholars into conversation with one another and by identifying pathways for greater connection between academia and communities. We are grateful to the nonprofit organization Streamscapes and Jessica Mason for their engagement with us, David Whyte (Marei) for highlighting the activities of the Marine Social Sciences Network, and all those who joined us for the event and/or otherwise expressed their interest to get involved.
