First Lecture as part of the Seán Ó Murchú Lecture Series in ACE

The lecture programme will be opened at 7pm on 30th March by Dr Larysa Samosonok, Former Vice-Rector of Donetsk National University of Economics, Ukraine. 

In her lecture, she will give a personal account of her own experiences of leading a university at the beginning of the Ukraine crisis in 2014, part of which was to transfer its operation to the nearby city of Kryvyi Rih in the neighbouring Dnipro Oblast. She will also speak of the subsequent challenges of living with a permanent conflict for eight years, the evacuation of her home three times, and finally her journey to Cork following the Russian invasion.
