Health and Safety Authority (HSA) Begins First Intake for Certificate in Work and Organisational Leadership
Last week, the first cohort of students from the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) began their journey in the Certificate in Work and Organisational Leadership with Adult Continuing Education (ACE) at University College Cork (UCC), delivered in collaboration with People Dimensions International (PDI) and the School of Applied Psychology, UCC.
Delivered part-time, the Certificate in Work and Organisational Leadership offers flexible delivery options tailored to client organisations, with a focus on practical application through work-based learning and mentoring. The programme covers critical areas such as problem-solving, decision-making, and emotional intelligence, providing participants with the tools needed to enhance individual, team, and organisational performance.
Students from the HSA participated in an initial induction day at UCC campus starting with staff introductions from key figures including Dr Seamus Ó Tuama (Director, ACE at UCC), Conor O'Brien (CEO, HSA), Derek Lyng, Tara Goodwin and Stephen Naughton (Client Partner, PDI). This was followed by an academic skills refresher workshop designed to help participants navigate the academic requirements of the programme.
Following this preparatory day, students commenced their studies with two days of intensive workshops focused on Building Your Emotional Intelligence: Making Your EQ Work for You, facilitated by Stephen Naughton and Derek Lyng. These sessions will equip participants with the emotional intelligence competencies needed to excel in leadership roles within dynamic organisational settings.
For organisations interested in a bespoke delivery of this programme, tailored to their leadership team’s needs, please contact Lyndsey El Amoud at l.elamoud@ucc.ie for more information.
We are excited to support the HSA in this programme and look forward to fostering their team’s leadership development.
