Note: A native of Kent, Taylor was one of the Auxiliaries killed or mortally wounded in perhaps the greatest single disaster suffered by crown forces in Ireland during the war of 1919-21. He had been a member of the ADRIC for about two months. He had previously been a soldier, with the rank of lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.
