Note: A native of Sussex, Lucas was one of the Auxiliaries killed or mortally wounded in perhaps the greatest single disaster suffered by crown forces in Ireland during the war of 1919-21. He had joined the ADRIC on 18 August 1920. He had previously been a soldier, with the rank of second lieutenant in the Royal Sussex Regiment. He was a Sussex native.
