Digital Badges
CIRTL and Digital Badges
CIRTL is involved in the development and coordination of a number of short courses focussed on learning enhancement which staff can complete to gain a digital badge or micro-credential. A digital badge is a visual representation of a skill, achievement, or knowledge gained which can be displayed or shared online and they correspond to ~20 hours of learner effort. Digital badges are a great way to communicate your knowledge and skills, and highlight your commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
Please click on the courses listed under the Digital Badges heading in the left hand menu to learn more about and enrol on short courses focussed on learning enhancement.
National Digital Badges
There are a number of digital badges offered nationally through the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning. These are aligned with the National Professional Development framework for all those who teach in Higher Education. These courses are listed on the Open Course website. Some are entirely online, some are blended, and others face-to-face. Additional facilitator training may be provided so that you can later facilitate your own open course.
Some topics covered by these courses include:
- Community Engaged Learning (developed by Campus Engage)
- Academic Writing Practice
- Programme Design
- Digital Policy development
