The School of Chemistry at University College Cork was delighted to host the Institute of Chemistry of Ireland 77^th Irish Universities Chemistry Research Colloquium on 23-24 June 2026.

Congrats to Anita Maguire, Head of School, awarded the SSPC Mentorship Award in June 2026.

Geoffrey is a PhD student with Prof Gerard McGlacken at the School of Chemistry at UCC and is funded by Research Ireland.

The Irish Catalysis Conference 2026 was held in University of Limerick on 26th May. It brought together researchers from across the catalysis community for a day of scientific exchange, discussion and collaboration.

University College Cork’s (UCC) School of Chemistry has been featured in a new handbook published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), highlighting leading efforts to advance sustainability in chemical research and education. 

Viewing of scripts will take place on Thursday 11th June 2026. Students who wish to view an Examination Script must complete an Application Form and return same by 12pm noon on Friday 5th June 2026.

The School of Chemistry is delighted to congratulate Professor Justin Holmes and Dr Rupa Ranjani, who were both recognised at the UCC Research & Innovation Awards 2025. Professor Holmes received the Supervisor of the Year Award, while Dr Ranjani was named joint winner of the Research Image of the Year Award.

The RSC Organic Chemistry Ireland Regional Meeting 2026 is taking place in the Dr Dora Allman Room, UCC Student Hub (Main Campus) on 12/06/2026.
