Researchers at UCC have produced a guide to help stay safe in the home this Christmas. The guide illustrates common Christmas settings in the home to provide useful advice, particularly in relation to the importance of ventilation.

An international ranking which examines sustainability practices in universities across the world, has ranked University College Cork (UCC) today at eighth, the only Irish university to make the top 10 of the ‘greenest universities’ in the world. UCC was ranked at ninth in the annual world ranking last year.

Today, the School of Chemistry held its annual Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Cork Simon Community.

PhD graduate from the School of Chemistry in UCC, Dr. Rose O'Mahony, has been named SSPC Graduate of the Year for 2020.

Happy 50th birthday to UCC's iconic Kane Science Building which was opened in 1971. For the past half a century, UCC students and staff have brought the lecture theatres and labs of the Kane to life, with their own unique experiences of the building.

Michelle O'Driscoll, a first year PhD student in the Schools of Chemistry and Pharmacy under the supervision of Dr. Tim O'Sullivan, has been awarded the Jane Grimson Medal of Excellence for being the top ranked STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) applicant in the IRC GOIPG (Government of Ireland Postgraduate) scheme this year.
