The annual School of Chemistry Poster Session took place on Wednesday 2nd April in the Aula Maxima with students from 3rd and 4th year undergraduate courses presenting posters, and with awards being presented on the day.

Congratulations to our MSc and PhD students whose conferring ceremonies took place on Tuesday the 25th of March, and our best wishes to them in their future endeavours.

Congratulations to Ciara Martha Scanlon (4^th year Chemistry) and Ela Demir (4^th Year Chemistry and Forensic Science) who both presented posters on their final year projects at the Royal Society of Chemistry (Burlington House, London) on Tuesday 18th March.

Through Organic Discussions, a group of PhD, MSc students and researchers visited the Pfizer Ringaskiddy campus on Friday 14^th March 2025.

The final year BSc Chemistry with Forensic Science class went on a tour of the State Laboratory yesterday.

On 6th March 2025 the UCC Chemical Society celebrated its 100 Year Anniversary at an event in Cork County Cricket Club.

Orla’s enormous contribution to the School of Chemistry, and more broadly across the University, was acknowledged at the recent event to mark her retirement attended by current and former members of the School of Chemistry and colleagues from across the University.

Prof Anita Maguire, Head of School of Chemistry spoke at a recent lunch hosted by the British Ambassador to celebrate International Day for Women and Girls in Science. Anita represented the Head of College of SEFS on this occasion and joined an impressive group of speakers.

Dr Eric Moore and colleagues from the School of Chemistry, UCC recently attended the I Wish showcase event at the RDS.
