Prof John Wenger and colleagues from the School of Chemistry at University College Cork hosted the National Clean Air Research Event on 26-27 May 2025, sponsored by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.

At the end of Spring we held our annual TY week at the School of Chemistry University College Cork. There was great demand for the program with 163 TY students from across Munster applying for the 24 places.

University College Cork has been working with Pfizer to advance important discoveries in the development of new medicines and the process to underpin their manufacture.

Viewing of scripts will take place on Thursday 12th June 2025. Students who wish to view an Examination Script must complete an Application Form and return same by 12pm on Friday 6th June 2025.

The School of Chemistry is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Dow Green Chemistry Education Award from Beyond Benign, to support the integration of sustainable practices into chemistry education. 

The School of Chemistry wishes to extend congratulations to final year student Rosie Deasy on everything she has achieved over the past year in parallel with her studies in the School of Chemistry, UCC.

The annual School of Chemistry Poster Session took place on Wednesday 2nd April in the Aula Maxima with students from 3rd and 4th year undergraduate courses presenting posters, and with awards being presented on the day.

Congratulations to our MSc and PhD students whose conferring ceremonies took place on Tuesday the 25th of March, and our best wishes to them in their future endeavours.

Congratulations to Ciara Martha Scanlon (4^th year Chemistry) and Ela Demir (4^th Year Chemistry and Forensic Science) who both presented posters on their final year projects at the Royal Society of Chemistry (Burlington House, London) on Tuesday 18th March.

Through Organic Discussions, a group of PhD, MSc students and researchers visited the Pfizer Ringaskiddy campus on Friday 14^th March 2025.
