Content may be king, but without an effective strategy, it’s very difficult to maximise the potential of what you hope to publish.
Before launching a project, you need to be able to measure success, decide on the purpose of your digital activity, establish a target audience and develop a dissemination plan.
Above all else, you need a strategy. Our evidenced based approach to creative content focuses on generating a return on your investment by utilising best practices from UCC and beyond to deliver on your ambitions.
We work with you to identify key metrics and goals before developing a digital marketing strategy that will allow you to engage with your desired audience.
Following industry leading methodologies, which have been found to be six times more effective at generating leads compared to other types of marketing, the strategies we employ are designed to showcase the right content at the right time to the right audience.
These strategies lean on international research which demonstrates that 60% of consumers are inspired to seek further information after reading relevant content.
Content writing is about much more than turning ideas into words. In an age dominated by keywords and algorithms, it’s about appreciating the specific needs of targeted audiences and creating content that will resonate with them.
Before putting pen to paper, we seek to understand the audience you are trying to reach and develop ideas that will engage them.
Our ambition extends beyond simply securing coverage or attaining reach, we want to enhance impact by writing actionable articles that heighten awareness and generates an affinity with readers.
Over the course of the last three years, we have worked with UCC faculty to create diverse and far reaching content designed to both stimulate engagement and highlight research.
From securing op-eds in the Irish Times to developing informative pieces for publication on RTE Brainstorm, we assist in the development of thought provoking content that provides real insight to readers.

Podcasts have come to symbolise the transformation of the media landscape in recent years. Thanks to hosting platforms like iTunes, Spotify and Acast, it’s never been easier for outlets to reach audiences who are eager to consume content on their terms.
Convenient and available on demand, today, 40% of Irish people listen to podcasts, rising up 72% among those aged 18-24.
In an otherwise challenging media environment, publishers see podcasting as an opportunity to introduce younger audiences to their brand and content.
Given that podcasts are relatively inexpensive to produce, numerous organisations are now also using podcasts as a means of introducing prospective clients to their expertise.
At UCC Academy, we helped develop two podcasts, Insights: The Cork University Business School Podcast and the UCC School of Law Podcast.
Designed to engage alumni and introduce listeners to the research being undertaken at CUBS and UCC School of Law, both have achieved relative success on the iTunes, peaking at number 2 and 4 respectively on the education charts.
Targeted at specific audiences, both podcast series secure high rates of engagement, which has helped build relationships with listeners who subscribe soon after being introduced.

Social Media has transformed the way we work and interact globally. Over 3.5 billion people worldwide are active on social media daily. In Ireland, over 60% of adults used social media last year and among those aged 16-24,90% are social media users.
There is much more to social media than posting a link or sending a tweet. Strategic use of social media can drive growth in your area across all your digital channels.
Much like content creation, social media management requires that you tune into the specific needs of your target audience in order toshareappealing and engaging posts on each of your social media channels.
As part of this, it is necessary todevelop a full understanding of the audiences you aim to reach across the ever changing landscape of social media. We work with clients to develop a brand and content strategy for social media that will enable you to generate a real connection with social media users, and grow your online community.
Social media management requires careful planning, daily management, and lots of content. What is a social media post after all, if not a piece of information, commentary, multimedia or news.
Over the course of the last three years, we have worked with clients to grow real-world followings that engage with content and deliver results.
Dr Rosemary Murphy, BComm Co-Director
Our BComm convention was not able to be held physically as planned due to the pandemic. We contacted UCC Academy to discuss whether or not it would be an option to hold it virtually. Within minutes we had a reply arranging a meeting to explore our options. Judie Russell was our project manager and a pleasure to deal with. Judie engaged and steered us, novices to Webinars , to achieve a very successful outcome.
