UNIC UCC student representatives Alex Sheehan and Diane Sheehy presented UNIC day on Thursday January 25th 2024. This was a special day of events for students on campus to learn more about UNIC, the European University Alliance.

Alex and Diane started the day with the UNIC stand in the Hub, where students popped by to learn more about the UNIC partners, give their own thoughts on European integration, and even enjoy some tea, coffee, cupcakes and UNIC-themed prizes. The UNIC stand in the Hub was promoted in collaboration with UCC student's union. UCC's Vice President for Global Engagement, Prof. Ursula Kilkelly, and the Student's Union Education Officer Ms Alison O'Mahony both visited the stand during the day.

Later that evening, Diane hosted a UNIC quiz in Hamish's Bar, the Student Centre, in co-operation with the Erasmus & International Society and Europa Society. Quiz rounds covered European topics including sports, the Eurovision song contest and country identification. The winning team was awarded with well-deserved gift vouchers.

UNIC day events were attended by up to 100 students in total, who had the chance to learn more about UNIC, how the alliance connects UCC to Europe, and various opportunities such as joint degrees, language courses and international collaboration.
