Head of UCC Buildings & Estates attends University of Liège's staff week themed "Redesigning the Campus in the City"

Head of Buildings and Estates at University College Cork, Mark Poland, participated in the UNIC staff week which took place at University of Liège from 19-21 May 2026. Under the theme “Redesigning the Campus in the City,” the event brought together experts from partner universities to exchange ideas and best practices on shaping the campuses of the future.  

The programme showcased innovative approaches and successful initiatives from across the alliance. Exchange between campus designers and managers, academics, and decision-makers allowed partners and participants to discuss good practices in university campus development and planning in response to challenges of transition and inclusion.  

Discussions addressed the major challenges informing future campus transitions, such as energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, housing, digital transformation, and the changing needs of university communities. The staff week also allowed participants to visit the different campuses of the University of Liège and find out about different projects and developments.
