Aisling Parkes delivers collaborative teaching at Koç University Law School

On Tuesday 8 April, Aisling was delighted to present on the voice of the child in family law proceedings at an event entitled: Children’s rights in the Modern World at the Faculty of Law (Hukuk) at Koç University in Istanbul,  This event was hosted by Professor Özgün Çelebi for and involved some really interesting insights and contributions from children’s rights scholars Ayşe Nilay Şenol and Simone McCaughren and others on how children’s rights are protected in different ways across jurisdictions. This event was well attended with about 50+ attendees including students and academics.

That day, Aisling also had a meeting with the Dean of the School of Law at Koç University to discuss further collaborations with UCC School of Law.

On Wednesday 9 April, Aisling delivered a master class on the voice of the child in family law proceedings both nationally and internationally. It is anticipated that this trip will facilitate future collaborations between Professor Özgün Çelebi and Dr Aisling Parkes in the areas of children’s rights and family law as well as possible teaching exchanges in the future.
