Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (Management and Leadership) is designed to provide already qualified radiographers and radiation therapists with comprehensive knowledge and advanced skills in the field of healthcare management and leadership.

This Management and Leadership pathway combines theoretical foundations with practical training, equipping students with a deep understanding of management and leadership theory applied to a diverse range of radiology and radiation therapy settings.

Through a blend of rigorous coursework, hands-on experiences, and healthcare based rotations, our Management & Leadership students develop expertise in management with leadership relevant to radiology and radiation therapy workflows.

Graduates of this pathway emerge competent and skilled professionals capable of applying their knowledge to enhance patient outcomes and continue to advancements in departmental and institutional practices.

Entry Requirements

Applicants for the Management & Leadership pathway must:

• Have a Second Class Honours in a primary degree (NFQ, level 8), in Radiography or Radiation Therapy or have successfully completed a Masters (NFQ, Level 9) in Diagnostic Radiography or Radiation Therapy.
• Be registered with the appropriate professional body.
• Provide written evidence of support from their institution stating:
  - The applicant is in a appropriate role for the entire duration of their course.
  - The applicant will have access to a radiology or radiation therapy department within their workplace.
  - Details of a suitable 'named' mentor.
